Phoenix Mercury sign restricted free agent guard Odyssey Sims to an offer sheet


On the first day of WNBA free agency in 2019, the signed restricted free agent guard Odyssey Sims to an offer sheet. Because of Sims’ status, Los Angeles has four days to match the offer.

Sims is a five-year WNBA veteran who has spent the last two seasons with the Sparks, and owns career averages of 12.8 points and 3.6 assists in 156 games. The 5-foot-8 guard was originally selected with the second overall pick by the Tulsa Shock of the 2014 WNBA Draft, where she went on to be named to the league’s All-Rookie Team that season. Sims was a four-year standout at Baylor University where she played alongside Mercury center Brittney Griner for three seasons.

Earlier today, the Mercury re-signed veteran guard Briann January to a multi-year contract.
