WNBA and CBS Sports agree to multi-year TV partnership

The WNBA and CBS Sports announced a multi-year partnership beginning with the upcoming 2019 season. The network will feature national coverage of 40 live WNBA games in primetime and on weekends, beginning on Saturday, May 25 when the Minnesota Lynx host the Chicago Sky at 8 p.m. ET.

“Through our partnership with CBS Sports Network, the WNBA is joining an elite lineup of premium sports programming,” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement. “We thank CBS Sports for making such a meaningful commitment to women’s basketball and for providing another platform to showcase the world-class athletes of the WNBA.”

The league also has a broadcast agreement with ESPN that includes a schedule of 16 regular-season telecasts with three games on ABC, two on ESPN, and 11 on ESPN2. The 2019 WNBA All-Star Game will be broadcast on ABC on Saturday, July 27 from Las Vegas.

The 23rd season of the WNBA tips off Friday, May 24.
