Cal adds transfer from San Diego State, guard Najé Murray

California (8-9, 0-6 Pac-12) added a mid-year transfer to the roster, Najé Murray, a native of nearby Stockton. The 5’6” junior guard played for two seasons at San Diego State where she averaged 13.7 points per game as a sophomore and was a Mountain West All-Freshman selection in 2018. She will redshirt the remainder of the 2019-20 season and will become eligible to compete during the 2020-21 season.

“We’re excited to add Najé to our roster,” first-year head coach Charmin Smith said. “She’s a dynamic guard who can score in a variety of ways and will also help us create havoc on the defensive end. More importantly, Najé is a competitor and is committed to the culture we are building, both on and off the court.”

Cal is coming off a tough road trip where they dropped contests to Oregon State and Oregon. The Bears host Utah on Friday at 12 p.m. PT in the sixth annual School Haas Rock game, before taking on Colorado at 12 p.m. PT on Sunday.
