After another rough and tumble week among the top 25 teams, South Carolina solidified its position as the unquestionable best team in the country remaining No. 1 in the Sport Tours International/Hoopfeed Top 25 Poll. While several other elite teams faltered, the Gamecocks passed a challenging test in defeating UConn 70-52 for the first time in program history Monday night. Meanwhile, Baylor and Oregon held on to their positions at No. 2 and No. 3.

Baylor continued to steamroll over teams in the Big 12, beating Kansas and Kansas State to stay undefeated in conference play. Oregon survived tough challenges from upstart Arizona and defensive juggernaut Arizona State. NC State and Mississippi State round out the top five.

No. 8 Stanford stumbled, falling three places after a home defeat to UCLA on Friday. The Cardinal recovered to top USC on Sunday on the program’s Senior Day. With the win over Stanford, No. 6 UCLA climbed four spots. The Bruins had a fruitful trip to Northern California over the weekend, capping their success with a hard-fought and exciting overtime battle in the East Bay at California.

Louisville dropped five spots to No. 9 after a winless week. The Cardinals suffered losses vs. Florida State at home and Syracuse on the road. With the victory over Louisville, No. 14 FSU moved up three places.

No. 15 Gonzaga had a tough week, losing to unranked Saint Mary’s on the road 70-60 and falling four places in the poll. Before the setback, the Zags were undefeated in conference play.

No. 24 Arkansas moved out of the last spot in the poll after toppling Kentucky on Sunday, 103-85. The Razorbacks outscored the Wildcats a whopping 33-19 in the third quarter. Kentucky fell four spots in the poll to No. 19

No schools dropped out of the poll. Other teams that received votes: TCU, Princeton, FGCU, LSU, West Virginia, Stony Brook.
