Release from the Lynx:

Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced the team has activated guard Odyssey Sims and in a subsequent move, waived forward Megan Huff. Per WNBA protocol, Sims will continue her mandatory quarantine on the campus of IMG Academy before rejoining the team. Following her quarantine and continued negative COVID-19 tests, she will serve her two-game suspension beginning with Sunday’s game at Los Angeles.

Sims enters the 2020 season following her first season in Minnesota (sixth in the WNBA) by leading the team in scoring and assists. She was named to the All-WNBA Second Team on Oct. 6, the first such honor of her career. The Irving, Texas native started all 34 games in 2019 and ranked 14th in the league in scoring (14.5 ppg), fourth in assists (a career-high 5.4 apg), 12th in steals (1.35 spg) and seventh in minutes played (31.9 mpg). She also grabbed a career-best 3.4 rpg while shooting 41.5% from the field, 26.9% (25-for-93) from three-point range and 79.5% (89-for-112) from the FT line. Sims’ 185 total assists stand as the fourth-highest single-season total in franchise history and the most since Lindsay Whalen dealt 189 in 2014.

Huff, a 6-3 forward from Federal Way, Wash., was signed by the Lynx on June 16 and appeared in three games this season. She was selected by New York in the third round (26th overall) of the 2019 WNBA Draft.
