Louisville senior guard Asia Durr is the recipient of the 2019 Dawn Staley Award.

“The Dawn Staley Award is given to the most outstanding collegiate guard in the country, a player who exemplifies the skills that Dawn possessed during her career (ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win),” says Phoenix Club of Philadelphia founder Michael G. Horsey.

In Staley’s words, “Asia is what the award embodies.”

“She’s an electrifying and dynamic player who plays on both sides of the ball.”

The 5-10 Durr, a two-time ACC Player of the Year finished the season averaging 21.2 points per game, the fourth highest scoring average in Louisville history.

She has several other honors under her belt including being a two-time AP First Team All-American and a Wooden Award All American.
